"Looking at a series of old writings found in a funky box, probably from thirty-ish years ago."

I have travelled far
have drifted farther
searching for a light
that can only shine within.

My gods have not misled me
my genius still loves a challenge
the poet has guided my prayers
through ancestors unknown
yet reliable

I do not complain
but I do wonder
I have worked miracles
through others
who want me to flex
their spiritual muscle

Yet I think myself a coward
for not aserting a viewpoint
But the East also is in me
and I am easy
at waiting.
